Sunset over Strandzha

This fused glass artwork is inspired by the distinctive landscape of the Strandzha Mountains — a region of soft silhouettes, ancient forests, and a unique sense of time and stillness. Rather than depicting a specific view, the composition interprets sunset as a transition between light and depth.

Dominant reds and warm tones create a dense chromatic field, evoking the gradual descent of the sun over wooded hills. Contrasts with darker and cooler areas introduce an inner tension characteristic of Strandzha — a place where light and shadow exist in a subtle balance.

Through the fusing process, glass becomes a medium of density and energy. The work does not depict a specific landscape, but conveys the essence of Strandzha as a space of memory, mysticism, and continuous connection between nature and time.
